Department Description
The City of Rawlins Attorney's Office provides legal guidance to the Rawlins City Council, City Manager and its' Department Heads relating to Employment Law; Contract Law; Statutory and Constitutional Law; Administrative Law; Police Powers; Planning and Zoning; and Procedural Rules for Governing Bodies. The City Attorney's Office also prosecutes criminal offenses, city ordinance violations and represents the City in non-insurance civil litigation. The City Attorney's Office provides legal guidance to municipal boards and commissions. The City Attorney's Office represents the city in contract negotiations and appears on behalf of the city in appeals of administrative decisions of city staff. The City Attorney's Office also represents the City in workers compensation claims, unemployment claims and litigation involving the Department of Labor.
