City Council New Ad

The agenda and council packet for Rawlins’ City Council’s Tuesday, June 17th Regular Council Meeting at 7:30 p.m. are available on BoardDocs at https://go.boarddocs.com/wy/rawlins/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=DH4NT8616E89 The public is encouraged to attend or watch the meetings remotely. Council work sessions and meetings are broadcast live and recorded on YouTube at www.rawlinswy.gov/youtube. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 521 W. Cedar Street. 

Council items include: 

  • Third & Final Reading for the Repeal and Recodification of Rawlins Municipal Code Title 8.16: Nuisances to clarify ordinance language, streamline court processes, and create an automatic grace period with the goal of improving compliance and assisting beautification throughout the community 
  • Modification of City of Rawlins positions to create a Public Works Office Manager and elevate the Streets and Shop foreman to the level of Superintendents 
  • Discussion of a Rob Roy Park Utilities Easement for installation of new gas main and La Paloma Sewer Issue
  • Appointments to the Carbon County Visitors Council, Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, and Shooting Ranges Advisory Board 
  • Presentation of the June Community Builder Award to Buddy Barto 
  • Reports from the Police Civil Service Commission, City Manager, City Attorney, City Council and Terry Weickum regarding his testimony at the US Capital 
  • Approve Agenda, Minutes, Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Executive Session - per WY Statute 16-4-405(a)(ii and ix). This may include action after the executive session

Please note: There is a special joint City of Rawlins and Town of Sinclair Council meeting on Tuesday, June 24th at 5pm. 

Regular City Council meetings include opportunities for citizens to communicate with the council. Citizen’s Participation is reserved for items not on the agenda. During agenda items, public comments may be accepted during council discussion. To address the Council, please raise your hand and come to the podium once recognized by the mayor.

Comments made on social media before or during meetings are not an official way of communicating with the governing body. We do not consistently monitor comments on the live stream of the meeting except to check on the sound levels or for other technical issues. 

Rawlins City Council meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30p. Work sessions are sometimes held beforehand, typically at 6:00 pm.
