At this month's annual awards presentation, the Rawlins Police Department proudly recognized five officers with the Life Saving Medal. The Life Saving Medal is awarded to members of the department for commendable actions in the saving or preservation of human life. In each of these incidents, medical professionals credited the officers’ immediate actions as directly responsible for saving the individual’s life.
We are honored to recognize:
• Sergeant Thom Gamblin – awarded three times for saving lives in September 2014, November 2021, and January 2022.
• Sergeant Chris Craig – awarded two times for saving lives in September 2018 and June 2024.
• Sergeant George Phillips – awarded for saving a life in April 2021.
• Lieutenant Jared Frakes – awarded four times for saving lives in July 2018, September 2018, November 2019, and January 2022.
• Lieutenant Daria Hooper – awarded for saving a life in July 2018.
These moments represent some of the most critical calls an officer can face where their training and decisive action make the difference between life and death. Please join us in thanking these officers for their commitment to protecting and preserving life in our community.
