The agenda and council packet for Rawlins’ City Council’s Tuesday, May 20th Work Session at 6:00 pm and Regular Meetings at 7:30 p.m. are available on BoardDocs at https://go.boarddocs.com/wy/rawlins/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=DFJNU561602B The public is encouraged to attend or watch the meetings remotely. Council work sessions and meetings are broadcast live and recorded on YouTube at www.rawlinswy.gov/youtube. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 521 W. Cedar Street. 

Council items include: 

  • Work Session regarding proposed changes to Rawlins Municipal Code Chapter 8.16: Nuisances 
  • Public Hearing and Second Reading of an Ordinance to Amend Title 10.15.070 Failure to maintain liability coverage for consistency with state statute and to improve enforceability   
  • First Reading of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 City of Rawlins Budget 
  • Approve Resolution to Adopt the Wyoming Region 3 Hazard Mitigation Plan
  • Approve Resolution to Adopt New Fire Department Civil Service Rules and Regulations 
  • Approve a Council Voting Delegate and Alternate for the Wyoming Association of Municipalities Summer Convention 
  • Approve Catering Permits for the Rifleman for Sinclair’s “Comedy/Magic Night” and Mike’s Big City for Sinclair’s “Still House Blues Concert” 
  • Approve MOU with Town of Sinclair Police Department for Animal Shelter Services 
  • Discussion of the Pedestrian Underpass under Higley Blvd near Aberdeen Blvd, an Urban Systems project between WYDOT and the City of Rawlins 
  • Proclamation for Arbor Day, May 31, 2025
  • Resignation from the Shooting Ranges Advisory Board
  • Reports from Urban Systems, City Manager, City Attorney, and City Council 
  • Approve Agenda, Minutes, Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Executive Session - per WY Statute 16-4-405(a)(ii, iii, and ix). This may include action after the executive session.

Regular City Council meetings include opportunities for citizens to communicate with the council. Citizen’s Participation is reserved for items not on the agenda. During agenda items, public comments may be accepted during council discussion. To address the Council, please raise your hand and come to the podium once recognized by the mayor.

Comments made on social media before or during meetings are not an official way of communicating with the governing body. We do not consistently monitor comments on the live stream of the meeting except to check on the sound levels or for other technical issues. 

 

Rawlins City Council meetings are held every first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30p. Work sessions are sometimes held beforehand, typically at 6:00 pm.
