πProperty Tip #1: Keep weeds and grasses trimmed. Weeds and grass are not permitted to grow higher than 8 inches.

πProperty Tip #2: Properly dispose of “junk.” Junk, such as derelict/abandoned vehicles, metal, glass, weeds, lumber, grass, branches, construction debris, appliances, building material, salvage/scrap material, or other discarded materials not intended for immediate use are nuisances. See 8.16.020 I for extensive information on derelict vehicles. Rawlins Municipal Code § 8.16.010 and Rawlins Municipal Code § 8.16.020 I., J.
πProperty Tip #3: Follow trash container laws. 1) All trash must be bagged in an appropriate bag. 2) All trash must be in a bin. 3) Lid must close on bin. Rawlins Municipal Code § 8.08.160
πProperty Tip #4: Alleys are the responsibility of the property owner. City ordinances apply to alleys, utility easements, and right-of-ways and must be maintained by the adjacent property owner.

πProperty Tip #5: Green waste must be removed. Tree limbs, branches, grass clippings, leaves and other green waste must be disposed of properly. Green waste can be disposed of free at the landfill. No garbage or refuse may be burned within the city.

πProperty Tip #6: Other things can also be nuisances. Actions or items that disturb the peace or are offensively stinky are also nuisances. Rawlins Municipal Code § 8.16.020.A-G
πProperty Tip #7: Keep in mind what can be discarded at no charge. Metal, green waste, limbs/branches, grass, and clean dirt may be disposed of at the landfill at no charge. Aluminum cans, cardboard, paperboard, clear plastics #1, colored plastics #2, milk jugs, clear and brown glass containers, clean steel cans, newspapers with inserts, office paper and magazines can be recycled.
