Public Notice: By law, City enterprise funds are required to operate as an independent business and be self-sufficient. General funding, such as sales tax, cannot be used for enterprise funds. The City of Rawlins has four enterprise funds: Water, Sewer, Landfill and Recycling. In order to balance the Recycling Center budget for ongoing maintenance and required capital projects, City Staff is proposing a $3 increase to the Recycling Center rate. This rate is charged to everyone who has a City water account and/or a landfill account. This will be heard by City Council on July 5th at 7:30pm, with a public hearing at the beginning of the City Council meeting. If it passes the July 5th reading, it will go to council on July 19th for final approval.
